To Matt's Family,

I ran across your son's story while researching memorials that I do for our country's fallen heroes.  I wanted to do a tribute to your son and I hope it will be a place to come and feel close to him.

My son is in the 82nd Airborne, 2/325 and is in Iraq now.  I cannot even imagine the pain you are going through.  I hope this tribute will be something that will help others to never forget Matt and his service to his country.

It took me awhile to finish the tribute because I wanted to do something really special.  My son when he was little, would cry when this song came on.  He would have me change the radio.  I think it still tugs at his heartstrings and he's almost 25 years old.

I thought the song gave so much meaning and hope for all the heartache I know you must have.  I hope and pray that this helps you even if it's only a liilte bit.

I do have a framed print to send to you of the tribute.  You can contact me with the info needed at aherostribute_org@yahoo.com.

My prayers are with you all and I will list Matt on my churches prayer list.

I am Sgt Joshua A. Fords eldest sister.  He was KIA by an ied in Iraq 7/31/06.  I read about your brave son years ago, and just the other day read again that you can finally find peace in having him laid to rest properly.

My heart aches with you.  Unfortunately you and many more of us Gold Star families have a common link, one we wish we wouldn't have.  And one we hope that no one else ever has to know.

I wanted to send this sooner, but the tears just don't seem to stop
bringing back my own brother's memories.

Take care of each other and know that Matt is still serving from above
and will always be your angel and protector from above.

God bless you.
